DC Metro Area Commencement will allow for all Master's, EDD & PhD candidates to participate. Graduate students may choose to attend Commencement in Blacksburg, DC Metro Area or both.
Register to Participate
All students planning to participate in a ceremony, please update your selection to attend Commencement: Hokie Spa-> Graduation Menu -> Graduate Student Degree Menu -> Notification of Commencement Attendance
Purchase Regalia
The proper regalia is required to participate in Commencement, please order regalia via the Hokie Shop: https://www.bkstr.com/virginiatechstore/shop/graduation
No tickets are required for guests at the Blacksburg or DC Metro Area commencement ceremonies!
Department Receptions: George Mason University Center for the Arts*
Tier 2: Master of Information Technology - Before Commencement 11:00am to 12:30pm
Tier 2: College of Engineering - Immediately following Commencement until 4:00pm
Tier 3: Public & International Affairs - Immediately following Commencement until 3:30pm
*Please contact each department for specifics regarding the receptions*
In addition, there will be light refreshments immediately following Commencement in the GMU Center for the Arts lobby for all graduates and their guests.
