Engagement
Virginia Tech’s outreach programs offer a wide array of resources to meet community and business needs, including non-degree professional certificates, courses geared toward the non-traditional learner, language and cultural education, as well as a high-tech executive briefing center in the Virginia Tech Research Center — Arlington, available to both internal and external clients for physical and virtual meetings and collaborative engagement.
Virginia Tech’s Office of Economic Development in the D.C. area connects Virginia Tech faculty, companies, and communities in ways that help create, retain, and enhance the quality of jobs and opportunities around the Commonwealth. A good example of this effort is Virginia Tech’s participation in DC Innovation Corps (I-Corps), a National Science Foundation-backed program aimed at translating the region’s vibrant research community into successful startups and licensed technologies.
