Graduate School Commencement
Blacksburg Graduate School Commencement Ceremony*
Graduating students in the D.C. area have the option to attend the university’s official Commencement in Blacksburg on December 18, 2026. Graduating students in the Washington, D.C., Area or online also have the option to attend the Graduate Recognition Ceremony and Reception on December 14, 2026. Due to space limitations for the Graduate Recognition Ceremony, the number of guests will be restricted.

- Regalia required for participation
- No limit to guests
- Register to attend via: Hokie Spa > Graduate Student Degree Menu > Notification of Commencement Attendance

D.C. Area Graduate Recognition Ceremony & Reception**

Check-in: 5:15 p.m.
Ceremony: 6:00 p.m.

Alexandria, VA
- Registration required. Students who complete an Application for Degree Completion (AFDC) for Fall 2026 by November 1st will receive registration information.
- Please bring Hokie Passport or driver's license for check-in
- Regalia or business attire required for participation
- Guest Limit (max. 3 guest)
- Parking details are coming
